Dogs are loyal and protective creatures that know how to give love without asking for anything in return. Sadly, not a lot of people know how to give them the treatment that they deserve. Many dogs end up getting mistreated and abandoned by heartless people.
Thankfully, there are animal shelters that work very hard to give these dogs a second chance. The Lewis and Clarke Humane Society has helped countless dogs find their forever homes. Their workers and volunteers give the dogs in the shelter the love that they deserve and they’re also quite active in finding these dogs their forever homes.
Although animal shelters like Lewis and Clarke Humane Society provide great care for rescue dogs, it’s still different for a dog to be in a forever home. Many people don’t adopt rescue dogs because they’re too busy with their lives and the added responsibility of really taking good care of a dog can be too much to handle.
This is why many stray dogs end up staying in animal shelters for a long time. Some don’t even get adopted and spend their entire lives living in the shelter without ever knowing what it’s like to be a part of a family. One dog that spent almost a hundred days living at Lewis and Clarke Humane Society is named Bubba Jr.
Bubba Jr. is a loving Pit Bull who loves meeting everyone. His loving personality would have been enough to get him adopted. Unfortunately, nobody came to adopt him and he was nearing a hundred days living in the shelter. Thankfully, Bubba Jr.’s favorite volunteer stepped up and decided to adopt Bubba himself.
After spending 94 days in the shelter, Bubba Jr. was finally going home. The shelter staff was so happy for Bubba Jr. and he got lots of pats and kisses from them before he went to his new forever home. Seeing Bubba Jr. go out of the animal shelter door one last time is truly a heartwarming thing to see. Here’s a video featuring Bubba Jr.’s story about how he found his forever home.
