Dogs are smart and that is why they can be easily taught to do tricks or play games with you. However, there are even smarter dogs who have found out by themselves how to use some things like the doorbell. It is funny though that many dogs have become experts at using the doorbell which has gotten plenty of owners stumped.
One of the many dogs who have discovered how the doorbell works is Lucy. Lucy is a rescue dog who is 2.5 years old and she lives in Harrisburg, North Carolina with her owner, Brandon. According to Brandon, his dog is 1/3 Labrador, 1/3 Black Mouth Cur, and 1/3 Human. Yes, human.
Brandon said that Lucy is quite adventurous but she also knows how to properly go out the door so she can relieve herself when she needs to. It may seem like a great idea since the home is kept clean but what worries Brandon is how Lucy would be able to get back inside.
It didn’t take long for Brandon to find the answer. One day, Lucy went outside to do her thing. After a few minutes, Brandon’s wife heard the doorbell ring. She then went to the front door and saw Lucy waiting there, all alone.
At first, Brandon’s wife was thinking that there must be someone playing a trick – ringing the doorbell and then running away. She decided to check the video on the doorbell to see who was doing it.
What she saw surprised her. She saw Lucy jumping and then pressing on the doorbell with her paws and her nose.
When Brandon heard about it, he was surprised and amused. Then he realized that it was a great thing because it would mean that once Lucy is done with her business outside, she can easily ring the doorbell so they could let her in.
