As we all know, doggos and mailmen don’t always see eye to eye. Our pups’ war with delivery staff is just as popular as their rivalry with cats. It’s unreasonable and it’s hilarious, but despite its popularity, it’s not always the case. Some doggos are so friendly, that they can become friends with mailmen.
In Boulder, Colorado, we found a rare relationship between a mailman and a pooch. A U.S. Postal Service employee that loves dogs. Yes, they exist. Jeff Kramer has been a dog lover his whole life. In fact, recently, he had a senior pooch named Odie. Unfortunately, Odie passed away. But Jeff’s love for dogs never died, it only transferred from one dog to another.
Jeff always made deliveries for Karen Dimetrosky, and he would often see her carrying their senior black Lab, Tashi, up and down the stairs of their front porch. Karen is no spring chicken, and she admitted that lugging around their pooch has taken its toll on her back.
So, whenever he was around, Jeff would help Karen carry Tashi. When Odie died, the mailman thought of a wonderful idea. He decided to donate the ramp that he built for his pup to Karen and her senior doggo. He dropped off the materials at Karen’s home, thinking that the family would figure out how to rebuild it.
Unfortunately, Karen and her husband aren’t good with their hands. So, when Jeff found out that the pieces of wood for the ramp were unused and were just sitting beside Karen’s house, he paid them a visit during his day off. The mailman also brought his tools along to build the ramp.
Now, Tashi is able to go in and out of their home with ease. This relieves Karen the duty of carrying a huge doggo around. It’s nice to see what people can achieve if they don’t succumb to the stereotypes imposed upon them! Jeff even joked about being a dog-loving mailman, as he knew how rare that is.
