Dogs express their love in a variety of ways. Some dogs prefer to cuddle with their owners, while others prefer to rest their heads on their owners’ laps. But Leia, a German Shepherd, has her own method of expressing affection – Leia is always trying to really be as close as it was possible to the people she likes.
The dog recently showed her devotion to her owner’s father in the most poignant way. Leia showed everyone how much she missed and loved her owner’s father when he was admitted to the hospital and had to remain there overnight.
Leia’s mother, Katie Snyder, sent the dog to her parents’ residence early this year. Leia rapidly formed a strong attachment with Katie’s mother and father, but no one understood how close she had become to Katie’s father because the dog was not particularly cuddly.
Katie’s parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, and they were out celebrating when Katie’s father became ill and he had to go to and be treated at the hospital. Katie’s mother had to come home on her own because she couldn’t stay at the hospital owing to the current pandemic limitations. At least, she had Leia to keep her company.
After a while, Leia grew depressed when she discovered Katie’s father had not yet returned home. The dog’s anguish revealed how much she adored Katie’s father.
The unhappy pooch merely sat by the entrance to their home, waiting for her grandfather to arrive.
Katie’s father returned home the next day, and Leia was overjoyed to see him back in the house. Katie informed reporters that after seeing Leia’s closeness with her father, she decided to make the dog a permanent resident of her parents’ home.
Leia now happily spends most of her days with her favorite person.
