You don’t have to be huge and powerful to become a hero. Four small kids, ranging from seven to thirteen years old, have proven this. They are brothers who live in Detroit, and they gave a poor dog the chance to have a better life.
Good things come in small packages
The four young boys, Kenny, Kenneth, Kevin, and Andrew, were helping their neighbor move when they discovered a dog inside an abandoned house. The brothers were startled to see that she was been tied up using a bungee cord.
It was also apparent that the poor pooch hasn’t eaten in a while. She was extremely emaciated and weak. It seemed that there was no fight left in her. She was just lying there, motionless.
Knowing that the dog was desperate for help, they untied her and took her home. They even fed her and gave the pooch a comfortable place to rest and region her strength. The boys even named her Sparkles.
As they could not keep the pup, they called a nonprofit rescue group named Detroit Pit Crew Dog rescue for help. Eventually, they arrived and took the dog from them.
According to the rescue group’s founder, Theresa Sumpter, the kids were genuinely interested in the dog’s wellbeing. She could see that they loved the dog and concerned about where she was going, and what was going to happen to Sparkles.
Theresa assured them that the pup will go to a loving family that will take good care of her.
And she was right.
A better life
Four days after the caring boys found Sparkles, the abandoned dog was taken in by Pet Tales Rescue in Grand Rapids, Michigan where they have a list of families already inquiring about Sparkles. She has already had medical treatment and is ready to be adopted.
Thanks to those wonderful kids, the dog’s fate was turned around, and she now has the opportunity to be happy forever.
