When we’re in our element and we know that we’re gonna be tested for something we’re good at, we tend to show off. That’s what happens whether we admit it or not.
This German Shorthaired Pointer named Walle will agree. Today, he’s racing a friend, a Weimaraner named Haki. He’s staying with them for a few days, and it didn’t hurt that he loved to run too.
Zazu, the Golden Labrador, stayed with mom to watch the race. Dad was facilitating the event, and we could tell that both dogs were excited to get the game going.
Mom and Zazu moved further down the trail, and then mom gave the go signal. At first, nothing seemed to happen, but then two blurry figures appeared around the bend.
They continued to rush at such speed that dust rose all around them. We could see that Haki was fast, but Walle was faster and looked more determined to win it.
Walle’s a trail dog, and he’s known for his high energy levels, so this doesn’t come as a surprise. Mom even said that what Walle needs is new brakes because he just kept going.
Mom and Zazu were supposed to be the finish line. While Haki recognized this, Walle didn’t and continued to run. He stopped when he saw that Haki was no longer on his heels.
Both dogs competed again and again, and Walle beat Haki in every round. We bet someone got really sore that night, thanks to the day’s running activities.
Zazu didn’t join his brother and friend because he was more like his mom. He loved walking, enjoying the sights, and just being chill about everything.
It’s great to have a friend come and visit sometimes so that Walle could have someone to run with. He’s usually with dad and his friends, so having to race against a fellow canine was great.
Here’s to more fun that suits your tastes, doggos!
