Tango, a K-9 officer, took over the role that K-9 officer Tyson had when he retired in 2011. Since then, Tango has been helping his fellow K-9 and human law enforcement agents. He fights against drug crimes but he still makes sure that he finds time to play when he is off-duty.
Tango is a dog that can do multiple tasks simultaneously. He ensures that his police partner, Mike Schroeder, is kept safe while he searches for a missing individual or seizes illegal substances.
After working tirelessly for his community, he gives himself the time to play with tennis balls which are his favorite.
Tango is a German Shepherd. The police department had always preferred this breed for a number of reasons. One major reason is that German Shepherds are renowned for being people-friendly.
Both Tango and Schroeder had training in Europe, where they worked together to enhance their skills. After that, they trained together in Dodge Country to increase their proficiency. The two will continue to receive instruction in distinct areas of their respective fields.
Schroeder applied for the position of K-9 handler because he wanted a challenge. He has participated in numerous training sessions in the Czech Republic to prepare for this. Even though he was unfamiliar with the profession, he was able to demonstrate his capabilities as a K-9 handler.
Officer Schroeder’s home is also Tango’s home. Outside the house, he has his own cage, but he is equally welcome inside. The two drive to work every day in a department-provided service van.
Tango’s attention is focused solely on his handler and no one else.
Tango’s initial performance in an actual drug bust impressed his handler. He became determined and focused at the task and that helped them identify the source of the drugs. After some sniffing and searching, Tango discovered a bag inside the suspect’s vehicle. The apprehended suspect was in possession of both marijuana and heroin.
The work ethic of Tango makes him one of the best.
Tango’s manner toward others is impeccable. As a result, he is eligible to participate in presentations and demonstrations organized by the Police Department for the community. They believe that Tango could be of greater assistance if he had greater exposure to the public.
