When volunteers from the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa (AWS) rescued Kuhle, the dog had almost no hair. This could be because of the severe skin infection that the dog had during that time.
The volunteers went to where Kuhle was after they received an anonymous call that reported the dog’s situation. Upon learning Kuhle’s condition, the volunteers from AWS wasted no time and immediately rescued her.
When they arrived at where Kuhle was, the volunteers learned the severity of the dog’s condition. She was chained outside a residence, and Kuhle’s home had no food or water nearby. With this, the volunteers confirmed what the anonymous caller reported to them.
In a separate Facebook post, AWS thanked the man for his bravery in reporting the incident. According to the post, the man felt very stressed by Kuhle’s situation, but he could not lend a helping hand to the dog. This is why the man reported it to the AWS because he believes that the shelter will help.
The volunteers established that there was neglect from Kuhle’s human, so they confronted her right away. During the confrontation, the woman did not try to argue or defend the horrible condition of the dog. Instead, she said that she could not afford to have the dog under her care.
The volunteers then warned the woman that they would file an animal cruelty and neglect case against her. But since Kuhle needed medical care, the volunteers immediately brought her to a nearby veterinary clinic.
Upon seeing the dog, the vet said it would take a while before Kuhle’s condition gets better. However, this is not a problem for the volunteers because they know the dog is a much better place. It may take a long while before Kuhle recovers, but the volunteers will patiently wait for this. For them, the most important thing is that Kuhle is now safe.
