In Buenos Aires, Argentina, a woman named Pia volunteered at DogRescue, a local animal sanctuary.
One day, she was on her way to see a friend when she became aware of a stray dog in need of assistance. Pia overheard two individuals discussing a stray dog they had failed to trap. She called her buddy and requested that their plans be rescheduled. She then introduced herself to the strangers and inquired about the dog.
Pia went to the dog’s location and looked for him for almost thirty minutes. She eventually discovered the dog lying close to a house.
The dog was in excruciating pain. He was severely underweight, and he was losing his fur due to a skin ailment.
Fortunately, Pia was always willing to assist a dog in distress. She took a cage from her car and enticed the dog to go inside. Soon, the dog was secured.
Pia rushed the dog to the veterinarian’s office, where he was inspected. Despite her desire to take the dog home with her, the veterinarian requested that he stay in the clinic for at least three days in order to monitor his health.
The dog lost two pounds in two days. But Pia remained hopeful despite his refusal to eat anything.
The dog began eating on his third day at the clinic. Pia gave the dog the name Hercules since she knew he was a fighter.
Hercules was strong enough to stand and walk after a few days. He was finally ready to be fostered, according to the vet.
Pia noted that Hercules had gained weight and that his hair had begun to regrow ten days after she fostered him. With the help of his loving foster parent, Hercules quickly developed into a playful dog.
Pia thought Hercules was finally ready to find his forever home after a few weeks. She also realized that she loved Hercules too much to let him go, so she decided to become his official mother for the rest of his life.
