Seunggi, a young Doberman, originally lived with his dad and his siblings. But when their neighbors complained about having him around, his dad had no other choice but to take him to his Grandma’s house. He had to move out for everyone’s sake, especially his.
Everything went pretty well at first at Grandma’s. He got along with her and she took care of him well. She fed him no less than two times a day, gave him baths a few times each week, and took him to the vet for wellness exams.
Within a few months, however, Grandma noticed Seunggi started to lose weight. He became skinny and he looked so sad compared to when he first arrived. She thought he was sick so she took him to the animal clinic but the vets found nothing wrong with him.
Grandma did her own research and bought a more expensive brand of dog food for Seunggi. She even mixed it with cooked noodles and chicken meat. But while he finished his meals all the time, he still didn’t add weight. In fact, he became so skinny that his ribs became visible to the naked eyes.
Three months quickly passed by and Grandma was already desperate. She no longer really knew what to do to help Seunggi so she consulted with animal experts. And while they suggested he had difficulty absorbing the nutrients from the food he ate, they did not discount the fact that, perhaps, he was homesick.
Grandma called her son and asked him to visit. When he arrived, Seunggi, who was timid, unstable, and weak for the last several weeks, suddenly found the strength to stand up and even went for a run with his dad. He felt delighted to see him again.
After his dad’s visit, the dog went back to his old self. So this time, Grandma and her son made arrangements for Seunggi to go home. It was their last resort to save him from falling into a deeper depression.
True enough, love mended Seunggi’s broken heart. Within two weeks, he added a significant amount of weight. Because he reunited with his family, he became happy and healthy once again.
