Terra is a small puppy that lived as a stray in West Sussex, UK. She had a rough start in life, and it showed in her appearance. Not only was she underweight, but she also had a severe case of mange. Most of her fur was gone, and her scaly skin was exposed.
Mange, caused by mites, can be very painful. The puppy, who was found alone, must have been suffering a lot. Fortunately for her, she was found and brought to a clinic. The sickly pup then met the kind woman who would change her life forever.
Treatment and recovery
Terra was taken to a clinic where a veterinary assistant named Jessie DeFreitas was working. She helped the doctor give the small puppy treatment and care.
Jessie is a big animal lover, and she has rescued and fostered numerous cats and dogs. At that moment, she had four cats and a rescue pooch living with her. Even if her house was already crowded, she still offered to foster Terra when she was released by the vet.
Jessie had already fallen in love with the adorable pup. Terra needed constant care and attention, and she wanted to be the one to give it to her.
Foster fail
In the beginning, the rescue puppy was a bit aggressive and didn’t know how to live inside a house. But with patience and love, Jessie taught her how to be more gentle and behave.
As her health became better, so did her character. Terra transformed into a beautiful puppy with a full coat. She also became sweeter and kinder.
When it was time for the tiny pup to get adopted, Jessie decided that she couldn’t part with Terra. Even if she just planned to foster her at the start, she ultimately adopted her.
Terra is now living in her former home, and her sad past life is long behind her.
