A dog named Ginny came from a neglectful household where she and her siblings were tied outside the yard all the time. She and her littermates had short chains so they were never able to move around freely, and they always stood on wet cement. Eventually, the dogs were relinquished to a local shelter, where they ended up on the euthanasia list.
Ginny and her siblings won’t be in this world anymore if Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue didn’t step in. The charitable institution pulled them out of the kill shelter and rehabilitated them. In no time, her siblings found their new homes but Ginny was left behind.
The poor dog was stuck at the shelter for six months. She didn’t understand why no one wanted her. She was so sad and almost lost hope until her new mom, Lauren Smith Greeno, came into the picture.
Lauren already had three dogs, but she decided to open her home to foster one more. She browsed through the internet and saw Ginny’s photo on PetFinder. She wanted to know more about the pup so she checked Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue’s Facebook page.
After learning more about the dog, Lauren decided right off the bat that she would foster Ginny. It was already late to call the shelter so she decided to email them instead. And within a few days, she was on her way to pick up the dog.
Lauren wanted Ginny to decompress so she placed the pup at the back seat of her car and opened the windows for some fresh air. The dog was so happy to be on a car ride, but Lauren was more delighted knowing she made a huge difference in the pup’s life. And right at that very moment, she knew she had to let the dog stay for good.
Ginny let out a sigh of relief once she was home. She knew she was safe and fell asleep. She fit into her new family right away and became inseparable from her new dog siblings, Gendry, Garnet, and Gigi.
Lauren admitted that foster-failing Ginny was one of the greatest decisions she’s ever made. She was glad she saved her, but she’s more delighted because Ginny brought so much joy into her life.
